Contract Content Manager

Are you an experienced writer, editor, and communicator who’s looking for a flexible work opportunity with a growing agency? If so, we want to hear from  you.

We’re hiring a content lead for a short-term contract (with the possibility of longer-term work after a three-month engagement). This is a 20 hour per week assignment.

In this role, you'll be responsible for working with account managers to develop content strategy for clients, coordinating with content producers (inside and outside of the agency), producing and editing written content, and ensuring the quality, consistency, and timeliness of our content production processes.

This role is ideal for detail-oriented people who are looking for a flexible work schedule, like to communicate ideas with the written word, and are comfortable delivering meaningful feedback.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Manage content calendars across several clients to ensure timely delivery

  • Participate in content planning meetings to develop blog strategy for various clients

  • Write 2-4 articles a month (usually around 800-1000 words)

  • Edit up to 20 articles per month (written by contributors and freelance writers) for content and clarity

  • Coordinate with freelance writers to ensure they have the resources and information they need to write blog content

Qualification, skills, and experience

  • 3-5 years of blogging or copywriting experience

  • Well-developed written communication skills

  • Creative thinker with proven organizational skills

  • Self starter, resourceful, excited to learn new things

  • Experience using project management systems a plus

Interview Process

Our interview process will let you meet our team members and share your experience. We also want to keep it streamlined to be respectful of your time.

  • Phone screen - We'll have a short 15 minute call with you.

  • Phone/video or in-person interview - We'll meet for about an hour to hear about your experience and what you're excited to add to our team.

  • Brief assignment (editing/providing feedback on a short piece of written content)

  • Meet with agency owners and current content lead for the final interview
